General Questions (Photography and Videography Questions Below) How much does it cost? Alabama DVD Weddings is committed to providing the very best coverage according to your needs and budget. A 2 hour project, including your ceremony and part of your reception can be shot for as little as $850. We offer a number of complete packages designed to save you money without compromising the very best quality. Our DVD and photography wedding planners will design the very package you have in mind. How much coverage can I get for my wedding day? As much or as little as you need...to date we have never charged extra for man hours on a shoot. What is the deposit? What does it do for me? When is the rest due? Typically the deposit is $500 for package purchases. If you are purchasing a smaller package (less than $1000) it will be half of you package price. Your deposit reserves your spot on our calendar, ensuring we will not reserve another bride in your time slot. The remaining balance is due one month before your wedding day. What if the wedding isn't in Alabama or is far away from Tuscaloosa? Usually this isn't a problem, however, if the distance is exceptionally far from Tuscaloosa, there may be some travel reimbursement fees. We normally cover weddings in Birmingham without any extra charge. What do the fees cover? The fees cover most ordinary costs, mainly our time and labor in producing your custom DVD. This includes editing time, filming time, the supplies used in producing the DVDs, albums, etc. In most cases the basic fee will cover 100% of the weddings we shoot. However, under unusual circumstances additional fees may apply, (like travel fees for out of state or near out of state shoots). There are no hidden fees and all charges are bound by written contract. What are package options? Package options are additional service or product add-ons that you choose with your package. We offer a number of Photography packages with or without Videography. For more information on click on our "packages" link. Is it true Alabama DVD Weddings provides the couple with copies of all photography shots taken? YES! This is referred to as our "Everything Photography Packages". In addition to the prints or albums you order, all digital still pictures will be provided to the couple on proof CDs, with unrestricted access. No hassle or copyright restrictions, you get both your prints and all your proofs! We know of no other photographer in Alabama that does this. How does the quality of digital pictures compare with film pictures? This is a very good and often asked question. We invite all our clients to inspect one of our past albums to see for themselves. Alabama DVD Weddings uses high resolution Digital SLR cameras to provide outstanding picture quality. "Digitization" is not noticeable on prints, and unless you wanted an extremely large picture (larger than a poster) and looked very closely (a couple of inches) it would not be noticeable. In addition to reducing film costs, we are able to immediately inspect exposure, as well as any possible closed eyes and retake if necessary. This is not possible with film. We believe high resolution digital photography offers our customers more as they get all their pictures and have the option to print up as many as they want, and the size they want, long after we have delivered the final product. Nearly all professional wedding photographers are now shooting digital or making the conversion. We also provide premium printing services, for outstanding photograph on the very best professional paper, including posters up to 20" x 30". (Say that 5 times as fast as you can!) How long will it take to get my pictures? If you've purchased an Everything Package, you will usually have your pictures delivered within 2 weeks of your shoot. For engagements and bridal pictures, we can get them to you the same day if necessary. Art Leather albums take about 4-8 weeks. Videography Questions Why DVD? The main reason to go DVD is image quality. A VHS tape has about 300 horizontal lines of resolution, where DVD ranges from 500 to 800 depending on the format. The more horizontal lines, the finer each segment, which increases your overall resolution. DVD disks do not need to be re-wound, take less space, and have a much longer shelf life than VHS tapes. With an interactive menu, you can jump to any spot of your DVD in a matter of seconds, instead of endlessly searching for a particular scene. How long will it take after my wedding before I get my DVDs? Most packages will take 4-10 weeks, some shorter, some longer depending on approval times, and hours of footage shot. Editing can take up to 80 man hours of work depending on the package. Our goal is to provide you a product that will be entertaining over and over. Tell us what you like and we will customize your DVD to your preferences. We are confident your wedding DVD will become one of your most favorite and most watched DVD's for the rest of your life. This is your DVD - it should be just the way you want it! Do you convert VHS to DVD? Sure! For more information on our conversion services click here. Can I get copies of my video? Of course!! ALL video packages include at least 3 copies of your wedding DVD. Additional copies are available for a nominal fee of $20, and boxed movies $25 Can I get DVD's of footage that you've edited out? No problem, raw footage DVD's are also $20 per DVD. Is it possible to take still images from DVD footage? YES! These clips are especially useful in designing DVD covers and sending in emails. This image was taken from DVD. These pictures however are not recommended for larger prints. How do we make reservations? Call 205-292-0096. If your date is available we will email you a contract that will allow you to print and sign our agreement. If live an hour within Tuscaloosa or Northport, we can send a wedding specialist to your home to help you design your DVD wedding. A non-refundable down payment of $500 is required to reserve your wedding date for one of our crews.
